BattleBit Remastered, which was developed by only 3 people, became a hit on Steam

The most popular game on Steam right now is BattleBit Remastered, a first-person multiplayer shooter created by just three people and featuring Roblox-like graphics. Gamers praise the new game for its smooth gameplay and solid amount of content.

In just two weeks after its debut in Steam Early Access, BattleBit Remastered has become very popular. Players are enthusiastically comparing the success of the online shooter to the failed launch of Battlefield 2042 a few years ago.

One of the most favorite aspects of BattleBit that sets it apart from most large shooters is the impressive amount of content that can be obtained for 410 UAH, although this is only the beginning of the early access phase. The game was released with 17 maps, eight game modes, 39 weapons, 200 prestigious ranks, numerous vehicles, proximity-based voice chat, and a lot of additional content. The only planned transaction is a weapon skin pack.

This monetization model gives the game a refreshing sense of getting back to basics for players who may be tired of the extra costs associated with games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, Overwatch, or Fortnite. Although BattleBit is paid, many people liked the ability to access all the content after a one-time payment.

The most noticeable feature of BattleBit is the intentionally low detail of the graphics. Perhaps this allowed the small development team to focus on improving the gameplay, optimizing performance, and creating content quickly. Despite the fact that the game supports a maximum of 254 players per server in 127 vs. 127 matches, it demonstrates high frame rates on a wide range of hardware. The recommended system specifications include a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor and a GeForce GTX 600 series graphics card, components that are more than 10 years old. The developers also added a new map and a new weapon just a few days after the launch.

Many posts in the game’s Steam community ridiculed Battlefield 2042, the latest installment of the franchise that inspired BattleBit (you can find its review by Denis Koshelev here). After its release, Battlefield fans scolded EA’s blockbuster for lacking many basic features, making it one of the lowest-rated games in the service’s history. Over the past year, the game has improved significantly, judging by the reviews, but it may be far from a complete recovery. In the meantime, BattleBit seems ready to fill the vacuum.
